I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and Holiday weekend. A real quick note.
The psych sheet for the CSI meet is on line on the MEETS page.
Please double check all entries. Any changes must be submitted by 6 PM tomorrow (Monday, 2 Dec).
Any scratches for the meet must be turned in to me or Taylor by
Wednesday. Championship rules govern this meet, therefore failure to
scratch a swim results in disqualification from the meet.
Only a couple items in this week's newsletter.
Taylor and myself will have copies of the entry for FAST and for CSI with us at workout this week. All swimmers please double check that your entry and times are correct. We want to be sure to have no mistakes at these meets.
Thanks to everyone for an awesome turnout at our Big Fish/Little Fish event this past Saturday. I've heard nothing but rave reviews.
Quick note on the Thanksgiving week schedule. We will have normal workouts for all groups through Wednesday. On Thanksgiving there will be one workout from 6-8 am only. All swimmers are welcome. On Friday, the will be only one indoor group (4-5:15 and the J1's will still get out at 4:45) and only one outdoor group (4-6).
Finally, Allyson Friday will be giving a lecture on the Swimmer's
Shoulder on Thursday, December 5th from 6-8Pm at ALTA Physical
therapy in Boulder. It is open to all of our swimmers. Allyson is a
former college swimmer and a great local physical therapist.
Welcome to November everyone.
1. Good luck to everyone at the meet this weekend at Jeffco. Psych sheet and start times are posted on the MEETS page. Warmup schedules are posted as well. I hope we have another awesome meet. For all swimmers, let's wear red on Friday, white on Saturday and black on Sunday.
2. We raised almost $3,000 at the RACE-ing for Flood Relief Silent Auction! Thanks to everyone that gave, bid, or attended.
3. We will not be attending the CUDA Pentathlon this season. The meet filled up very fast. Also, we did not have quite enough interest in the Florida meet to make the trip. We will plan on going next year. Therefore, our next meets are the CSI invitational and the FAST meet in December. Again, check the meet info on the MEETS page for cut times, dates, and information. Please have entries for both meets into your coaches by November 14th. If you have any questions about those meets contact your group's coach directly.
4. We will be having a Big Fish/Little Fish day out on November 16th from 1-4PM. We will be going to Gateway Park in Boulder and the cost will be $20 a child.
That will cover...
3 Go kart rides
15 Arcade tokens
60 pitches in batting cage
18 holes of Mini Golf
1 run thru the human maze
IF YUCKY WEATHER, they will have an all indoor arcade party... 100 tokens for $20
We need parents to sign up to bring munchies, paper products and drinks. We can bring anything except pizza.
Please contact Taylor with interest and questions.
Good evening everyone,
We have our silent auction tomorrow night the 10th starting at 6:30 pm. This is a benefit for our RallySport families affected by the recent flood. We have had a lot of great items donated by local businesses and athletes, and are excited to see how much we are able to raise.
Also, Friday there will be one practice for the outdoor groups at 4 pm. Our warm-up times for this weekend are as follows.
Morning session - 8:00
Afternoon session - 1:00
Please be ready to go 15 minutes before warm-ups start.
Enjoy your night and we look forward to seeing you at the silent auction tomorrow.
A few things as we start off this wonderful week. First, entries for the Longmont Great Pumpkin meet are due to Taylor tomorrow October 1st. Next, there is a Stroke and Turn Official training in Aurora approaching for those who are interested. For more information please contact Taylor. Lastly, Kristen and Taylor have put together
the list for Big Fish/Little Fish. A link to the list is provided below. The idea is the groups will make cards or goodie bags for each other at the meets and interact outside of practice. Please let Taylor or Kristen know if you would not like to be a Big Fish or Little Fish.
